Seaton Delaval First School Northumberland April 2011
Visited with nicola1981. We had our eyes on this place for over a year and for Nic it was to bring back some memories as she used to attend this place when she was a wee nipper many MANY years ago.
There isnt much history on this place but what i did manage to find was it opened in 1873 and there is alot of mini reports about inspections on the school. During the first word war it manage to continue without any distrubance until the annoncement of the second war were there are reports of alot of air raid and a contruction of a stelter on nearby grounds for the childen and teachers. After this the history stops. After askng around and doing some research, i came to the concolsion that this school closed in june 2005 as the "New Seaton Delaval school" opened its doors in the September.
