Kirtlebridge ROC Post - (Dumfriesshire Group) - July 09
1991 Closure
Just of the M6, nearly in someones backgarden. This was a 5.45am trip to the post and my first encounter with a Scottish tbar mechanism. I took me a few mins to work out how to unlock them.
Inside the post is ok but flooded. You have to balance on a very rusty paint tin to take the pictures. The water was just too minging to wade into at that time of the morning :fail
Not much remains inside, a poster and a few bits of paperwork is all.

 that paint tin is quite scary to stand on!

Sad as it looks very damp down there. Is that the first post over the border? There is something strangely facsinating about the flooded ones though.

Re: Kirtlebridge ROC Post - (Dumfriesshire Group) - July 09

Putting the key in the lock is probablys a good start!

Hahaha, well i would of thought so, but more technical details such as applying wieght to the hatch or not, which way to turn the key and how far, things like that :)
