Newtownards ROC Post (Co Down) March 2011
Another post from yesterdays travels, this time on the Ards Peninsula, the outcrop of land to the East of Northern Ireland.
Newtownards closed in 1968 and has been heavily vandalised over the years, it is VERY hard to find so I was surprised at how bad the vandalism was as there does not appear to be any houses close to the site.

Ladder is not fixed to the shaft wall and physically bent when I put any weight on it, didn't fancy getting stuck down there so though it better not to chance it. Looking at the pictures on Sub Brit it would not have been worth it anyway.

Shame, still nice one.
Did you look at the aircraft post in your pics?
Re: Newtownards ROC Post (Co Down) March 2011
I looked at it but I really do think it was just a windmill. Didn't bother taking any pictures as there was not much to see!
