why have you crashed so many Xantias? lovely motors to drive, if not a little low!

Just cos I lick electrical outlets it doesnt mean I'm stupid.......................I just like the tingle!

I've only actualy crashed 1 xantia, but broken a few for bits to keep the black one going. The red one I bought for 100 dabs, had 4 brand new michelins on it, leather interior and a blown engine, nicked tyres, interior, lights, turbo, spoiler etc, scrapped it and got 120 back for it. Good bit of business me thinks. The BMW didn't win on the wet roundabout, and the zx didn't like being slammed into the central reservation. The others have been to Buxton banger racing.
Some people call me stupid, but I do love an old citroen, on the look out for an xm diesel if anyone knows of one?

I dont know of any going... as a youngster (24) my previous car was a 1.9TD SX xantia - p reg in dark green. lovely to drive but after 2 years was going to cost me £700 to get through an MOT when i only bought it for £995. so that went to the great scrapyard in the sky... now i fly around in a 2.0 berlingo.

i was 18 when i got mine, when my mates was in saxo's and corsa's and wondered why i drove it, then at a set of lights a 1.9 td takes off a little better than a 1.1. they soon realised, and i like been able to tow anything, such as the big rover, stopping it was a different matter. had mesen a berlingo from work, cracking little van. you've got to love a citroen.

I passed my test at 19 and started on a 1.1 polo... then 3 months later a 1.9TD xantia and insurance went up £50

similar to me, sept 06, a 1.1 fiesta cost me £1450, xantia in march 07 cost me £1520. every 17/18 year old should have one. and it would give all mechanics (myself) a good boost aswell. luckily i was able to repair mine most of the time. usually with anything to hand, bailing twine is so handy.

that is neither a reliant nor is it a mini van !!! it is in fact a mini countryman estate close observation will note it has side windows fitted and the windows have the sliding glass window given away by the verticle line where the windows overlap in the middle in the same fashion as the door windows , a reasonably rare beast nowadays especialy the early sliding window model like that !!

very nearly baught that when it was in a lot better nick than that if it is still there it must be near 8-10 yrs at least it has stood in that spot near sellers horse food supplies it was pretty saveable at one point but alfa suds deteriorate quickly if left ....hell their not that slow if you looked after them pitty realy as they are an exceptionaly nice looking and driving car if you can find a good one if !!
the alfa romeo sud was developed to create employment in the south of italy ... unfortunately they didn't forsee the problem of most of the factory being devoid of workers during the tomato harvest season therefore they were very shoddily built there were rumours that even when they were new you could hear them disolving on the ferry comming accross here and a regular fault on newish vehicles was the rear hatch and windows falling out through corrosion

Out and about today for a walk and enjoying a nice sunny November's day, when I came across these laying in a Showman's storage yard.
A nice old Road roller looking for a resto!
These old Bumper cars have been here for a number of years! I just feel compelled to want to restore one and put it on the road for a bit of fun!
The yards full of old fairground kit and some lovely old abandoned Scammell, Foden and ERF trucks. I will have to get back here and do a proper explore at a later date.
