Post Chop Gate ROC Post - A Box of Personal Memories

After my open day, i was honoured to be presented with a boxfile which on thorough examination was packed with lots of intresting and rare things.
From recruitment magazines, to diaries, post logs, dosimiters, manuals, unopened paperwork, certificates etc.

The reason behind Observer Hugill giving them to me was that he didnt need them anymore, sounds a bit silly but he wanted me to have them.

I was pleased with what i found.

It is this box, out of everything ROC related i own, that i treasure the most, as it has what i dont think many post restorers have for their posts, all the personal information/data.

Some of you may not have seen paperwork or stuff like this, so i thought i'd show you them.

    The Box

    Chop Gate Callout Plans 1980

Some of the camps attended by Obs Hugill.

    ROC Diary 1979

Has all the excercises and cluster meetings in.

    In the Standown Envelope

    Master Test Certificate

    Stand Down Certificate

    Medal Letter

    Medal Presentation Letter

Stuffed with all sorts of intresting things!

    Training Manual - So intresting!

And some dosimiters, that he forgot to take back to HQ!

Hope you enjoyed! Theres way more stuff i didnt bother taking photos of!

It really does make a difference when you have the more personal stuff. There was an unopened packet of screws for the BPI with the NATO number on as well as brand new gaskets and stuff.

When someone gives you their pride and joy you know your passion for the subject is inspirational.. Keep up the good work fella.
