Arrow Colourflex Dyeworks - Leeds - September 2010

Recently this has become a popular site. I first wandered round here nearly three years ago and back then, a little man in a van used to look after the place. It was sealed tight and checked twice a day. Now things are a bit different, you can just wander in and have a mooch and the place is still in resonable condition.

It closed in 2004/05 and is nearly completely empty. Others have done much better pics than my efforts but here's my take on the place

Outside is a mixture of modern, older and utterly ancient. The first thing you see is this shed and water filter house.

Round the back of the site are many sheds and buildings, most are locked.

There's the usual HUGE dyeworks chimney and some storage tanks, one tank has been removed and has left a strange concrete crater.

Front offices are modern and lifeless.

The main part of the factory is utterly empty and not very interesting.

Moving out of that area and through these door, things get more interesting.

First comes this kitchen / canteen area.

Then the room with the holes which em jay did so brilliantly at night.

Additional storage sheds of to the left and right.

Then you reach this creepy asylum type corridor.

You can get into a small room here which is directly above the stream.

That's pretty much it, I know I've not added anything new but it was nice to see inside at last.

Good to see some externals as well as internals - I like the overgrown filter house and offices, nature's revenge and all that…

if your interested in getting the whole site, the part round the back near the big chimney has relatively easy access now, with lots more to see inside !!

To be honest it was raining so hard I called it a day early, soaked to the skin.
