Calderdale Rubber were tennants at Glen Works for many years (1948 until 2000). The company employed 47 workers in both the lab's, warehouse, offices and the manufacturing plant.
Calderdale council spent £8000 on a fence to stop vandals, thiefs and general pikeys entering the site (so what are we classed as then?). The smaller building closer to the main road was classed as a hazard and the council employed a contractor to demolish the place. The contractors came to the site very well prepared with a 'cherry picker' and two sledgehammers.

Calderdale council have been approached by a company in Jersey with the plan to build 28 new houses on the site.
