    Default Scott's Caves. Dover. 24.07.2010

Scott's caves at Snargate Street. Dover. Was once the home of Scott's Dyers, and later Hoverspeed stores and the AA. The well at the rear of the caves supplied water to the Grand Shaft Barracks above.
It was used as an air-raid shelter during the Second World War and on December 4th 1940 Emily Foster was killed by an enemy bomb while entering the shelter, her body was not found for several days.
No plan but it's just a simple 'H' shape.

Main cave.(Hovercraft intake cowlings on the right)

    Hovercraft door!

    Entrance to connecting passage.

    The connecting passage, looking back.

    In the second cave.

    Looking the other way.

At the end of the second cave is a tunnel which lead to the well.

    In the tunnel.

    Looking down the well.

    And up.

    Hovercraft stock list.

    Only one?

Mind you there's a few places I've yet to visit that have been ticked off your list in the last few months.
