Default Midland Mill, Bradford - Nov 2010

    Visited with Grea.
Despite not getting over to Manchester to meet Nij & CCM for a mooch round Mayfield Station, we were on a job in Shipley so decided it'd be rude not to have a nosey round this area.
Firstly, we did the usual walkround to observe the building and admire the stonework, architecture and any unusual additions that are symbols of the stonemasons skills. You dont get that in modern builds, there's no personal touch and it's all cold prefab shit anyway.
So once we'd found an entry large enough for two fatties and our gear we were in.

Looks impressive, I love mills. Now, i'm gonna bore you with some pictures.

Considering the copious amounts of snow we were supposed to get, we dropped on a particularly sunny day. Lots of warm light coming through the broken windows illuminating the place.

Looking back out the doorway towards the tower (not sure if it once housed a bell?) with the weather vain, and the symbolic goat, which represents the mohair made from the Angora Goat.

Staircase porn, plenty of broken glass and peely paint here

Another south facing shot towards the newer building used more recently by British Mohair Suppliers. Exp points awarded to Grea for pointing out that there are 3 building here, not two.

Navigating my 17st of bloke across the rather suspect looking wooden walkways between the two buildings I was greeted with what I can only describe as Filth! Symmetry & Reflections are my two favourite things when it comes to photos, so you'll have to forgive me for spending ages in here.

Also did a B&W version of that too...

    Fire Exit

    Few from outside

    Dodgy Creaky Walkway

    And finally a chair shot

We had a nosey next door at Conditioning House, I love some of the architectural pieces on the outside, especially the main centre piece, the pyramid containing the three ram horns. Horns dotted around too above doors, another hint at mills heritage. And a shady nightclub not too far either, that will be a revisit with lighting.

    Thanks for looking.

Nice one. I am glad to hear that there is no sign of the giant man poo that I spotted in here earlier in the year. I wonder where it has gone? Good pictures by the way

The giant man poo was in the middle of one of the mill floors.
The line "Nice shooting Tex" i believe was said by Doctor Peter Venkman in Ghostbusters.

I dont remember that in Ghostbusters. Lol. Cheers, didn't realise there was so much over here. We'll be spending more time mill hunting over there now.
