The first pic is a weird one, the wb400 and old style fsm are clearly visible yet there is a ad8010 blue/yellow teletalk in there. must be early 80's when they were upgrading.

That old fsm in the pic looks like the training version too, yet next to it appears to be a slot for a pdrm82f. Certainly an odd lot of stuff in that post.

That post has the old training fsm, its possible they kept it incase the more modern one (PDRM) buggered up so they had the spare just as a back up although having said that dont know why the trainer would be there, only a few where in each group. Could be the same with the old style teletalk, or maybe the post was just in the middle of being revamped with the new kit.

The hatch on that post is indeed a weird one, in my research ive noticed it appeared on a number of them across the UK in the 1960s era mainly, from what I can gather the ROC must have been experimenting a new type of hatch were by you would lock it down with the 2 big bulges you can see on the inside, it would be a more secure means then the classic t-bar but they must have scrapped it after a while, possibly due to the cost of installing this type of hatch into every single post.

From what I have researched this was the FIRST style of hatch used on the posts, the first ever trial post in Farnham had this style fitted to it. The tubing on the outside is the counter weight/handle, it was locked using a normal T-Bar but it locked in the middle instead of at the side.
