2 minute update. we've been there since 3-pm yesterday, popped home for a shower etc and going back again with his mum. Still being treated on full life support but looks like it's just a matter of time. We're staying with the old sod till the end no matter what, he will not leave this world alone. We've told him how much you all care so he knows ok.

SS - will phone you ok xxx

How awful i was really crossing all my fingers and all my toes for him to make a full recovery. Its such a shame, and it's sad to hear about a member of our own little community in this bad way. I'd love to really believe and pray that there is hope for him yet. So that's what i'll do. I'm going to keep hoping that there's a chance he'll pull through and be back at George Barnsleys before you can say pneumonia.

    Nice sentiments Mex..

I went in his room in the early hours of this morning and said my goodbyes, its not a case of if, its more a case of when.

The little group of 5 people that made up the "all through the night" vigil all agreed that in essence our crazy old pal had in fact left the building already.

I Sat in the room, with him laid on his stomach, his face embedded in to the mattress, his skin cold and clammy and just took in the enormity of what was happening.

The last time I saw him we had a pint and a couple of packs of pork scratchings in the fat cat, its hard to imagine going to Sheffield again and not hooking up with him exchanging good natured insults and him posing outside George Barnsley's

And that's what exploring Kelam island and all the other places mean't to me, not just a day out exploring but also a day out with 07442 the larger than life character who never disappointed, entertainment value second to non.

Ok he went off on one at times but he took great pride in knowing many of the explorers he met from this forum and loved showing everyone round his George Barnsley's

If the worst comes to pass we talked last night of having his ashes scattered at George Barnsley's, well he has haunted the place for the last few years so I am sure he would be very happy there.
