“To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.”
Wished i'd known you were going down here. It's one place I would spend diesel money on getting to for sure. It's simply stunning.
Its like something out of Captain nemo, cutting edge Victorian shit mincers..
Give me wine, I drain the dregs and toss the empty bottle at the world.
Handsome, witty, devastatingly charming and unstoppably immoral
Oh my..I think iv just wet my self!
That place is SWEET!!
The only thing to do with good advice is pass it on. It is never any use to oneself.
It's a good'un alright... been open for ages now, must be some right slack-arses at Thames Water...
HOWEVER, the 'Daleks' do detract from Abbey Mills a bit. There is another survivor of the 4 original Bazalgette sewage pumping stations that still has the original Beam Engines intact, and has all the twiddly wrought ironwork too.
Back to Abbey Mills though, I personally like the outer building with the huge flooded out expanse - very Tarkovsky indeed.
"Look. Ready? This is it. Forget all previous orders. Just give me a sack of coke, two large rocks, two pink boobs, an enormous lemon, and a large bare lady of the house."
very nice
Nice pics dude!! I love those dalek looking things!
Abbey Mills is THE SHIT!
Splended building, really really wish I lived a little closer, rather than the opposite end of Britain.
Also quite possibly the best photos I've seen of it, they're top notch. Especially like this one:
Do the council (or whoever looks after it) know people are going inside? They must do by now, surely, since there have been so many reports on it in the last year. I'm amazed they haven't sealed it up more since it's still technically kept in usable condition.
