    Default First Report - Scarborough to Whitby Disused Railway - June 2010

    After 13 years i decided to get the old Mountain bike out of the shed and go for a jaunt. Many people have told me about this old railway (my brother cycled the whole distance of it the previous year) so i thought i would take a look..

    Here is a brief Wiki history on the railway -

    "The Scarborough & Whitby Railway was railway line from Scarborough to Whitby in North Yorkshire, England, the line followed a scenic route along the Yorkshire coast.

    It fell victim to the Beeching Axe closing in 1965. The trackbed has been developed into a rail trail and now forms part of National Cycle Network Route 1"
