This building was what once housed the flight simulator for Heyford, what would test pilots and their flying skills.
Since the yanks pulled out it has been used by a graphics company for making stickers etc but they left in 2008, it has since lay abandoned and is down for demolition some time this year. The building is pretty stripped and to be honest not even really worth a look, still worth documenting.
Picture quality is slightly crap due to my flash bouncing across all the walls so apologies for that!
Those also hoping to see the cockpit system used will be dissapointed to know it went with the yanks!
This is the only picture I can find of the building from the cold war days while in use, its shows the kind of system that would have been installed it it may not even be in the flight simulator all we know is it was at Heyford!
Room full of shelves, loads of stickers were behind them
No idea what this room was, but in the top left of the picture was some sort of pully type mechanism
One of the main halls, to the right you can see some giant boards that are advertising some older cars from 2008, left by the sticker company!
Abandoned circa April 2008!
Another hall
Nice big door with a cool Cipher locking system (think thats how you spell it, im no door expert :lol )
The plant room, lots of cool stuff in here!
Hallway
The main hall, this is where the actual flight simulator would have been situated.
Not much but worth a look I suppose, thanks for looking
