    Post is up by phone masts and is open, only to reveal a chunk of concrete. Does it just block the shaft, or is the entire post filled?

    That looks pretty bad, by the looks its been sealed for a while so most likely flooded bellow decks by now, is the ground around it quite damp?

    Yep, I would stick my trusty FSM cam down there.
