Default Connaught rail tunnel, Silvertown. March '11

    First report..

Apologies for quality of pictures, photographing a dark tunnel with a broken torch was intresting..

Opened in 1846 and closed in 2006, it is planned to be reopened soon.. I've heard that they plan on opening it after the 2012 olympics.
There is evidence of work down there, new temporary lighting through out and generators at either end. Also a health and safety check point with breathing aparatus etc.

I'll post better pictures and better sites once i've been upgraded from new member..

Haha ah it's worth a look mate, if you're in the area.
Kinda peaceful down there, if it wasn't for the drain run offs and orange mud i'd spend a bit more time down there.. Especially since i don't live too far away.

Thanks everyone else for the feedback.
