Forest Labs, Bexley, Kent - March 2011

My latest Airsoft expedition takes me all the way up the M4 to Kent, to the abandoned Forest Laboratories complex in the village of Bexley, just inside the M25.

The complex closed down in 2009/2010 and is due for demolition and redevelopment (presumably into housing) sometime in late 2011.

Exterior.


Starting inside.


Up to the office level on the second floor.




Back down to the labs area on the first floor.



Some kind of water treatment machinery.



No idea what this equipment was for, but it had already been ripped out leaving only twisted pipework.


Into the main chemical lab.


Holy shit, this was just like a school science lab!


Pretty much everything made of glass in this room was already smashed.



Uh oh..


Racks for protective clothing outside the lab.


Whatever hazardous stuff was in here is long gone.



No idea what this thing was, but it looked like a miniature gas chamber! Either it hadn't ever been used or it had been kept immaculately clean.


This last room freaked me out a bit. It was some kind of quarantine cell, with toughened glass windows either side. Not sure what it was for, something to do with antibiotics.
