Default Jewson Decorating Centre, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, 27/05/2011

When I entered this building, I didn't know I was walking into an horror film.

I got to the top floor of the building with just a couple of interior shots and some exterior shots to go when my battery died for my camera, even though I made sure it was fully charged before leaving. As annoying as this was I figured I would go home, give it a charge and do a revisit. With this decision made I made my way to the ground floor to my entry point to find it shut tight, I shoved and shoulder barged and the door wouldn't budge. At this point I sat on a step to have a quick think and I couldn't remember seeing an alternative option, so I called CCM as I know he's been here before and I followed his instructions to his entry point to find it had been boarded up. So with CCM laughing down the phone and us having a think on the possible options I noticed a jacket that was on the floor was now hung up. I informed CCM I wasn't alone and he said he would be there in about an hour.

Knowing I had company, I figured it would either be Teenagers or Security, either way meant a way out. So I decided to sneak around quietly when I heard music from the floor below me, Seeing a stereo down there earlier I figured teenagers I will approach slowly and see if there is a way out. Then out of nowhere I hear "I know your in here little pig, come out come out where ever you are" in a very creepy tone. My initial reaction was WTF, I decided to sneak quietly towards the voice to get a peek of the mystery man "little pig, little pig" I glimpsed down the staircase to catch a glimpse of a bald headed man with a baseball bat. My heart sank and my hairs stood on end, I took this very moment to arm myself with a piece of wood and carry on looking for an escape route while playing cat and mouse. I headed to the yard and called CCM to give him an update then carried on with my hunt for a way out. "I smell you little pig", my options were a fire exit, which was alarmed, onto a weak roof onto an even weaker one and drop down from a more secure one into a car park or hide and wait. I decided to choose the latter and a good 40 mins must of gone by when I heard him get closer. Fuck this I thought and I went for another look, that's when I noticed a roller shutter wasn't locked so I slowly and as quietly as I could pulled the chain that opens the shutter. There was a tiny gap underneath and I looked around to see the nutter on the roof to the buildings in the warehouse (accessed by a door on the 1st floor) so I threw myself under that shutter and into the street. I got to the main road and phoned CCM to let him know I'm out to find he was 10 mins away. We then did the one thing you should never do, we went back in. There was no sign of the psycho though.

On having a look at my entry point, I noticed a fresh screw had been put in while I was in the building.

The stereo that started playing music

This is the jacket that was hung up when I waled past it again.

I climbed over these mattresses to find there was an easier route round the corner that I missed due to the pitch black labyrinth that is the ground floor.

There was evidence of a car race in here and my guess is that it wasn't leagal.

    What the actual f*ck?!

That's got to be one of the weirdest stories I have read in a while and is a classic example of why exploring alone is a bad idea most of the time. Creepy as hell...

No thankfuly. there was a car in the car park that had gone by time we went back though, so he either left or was higher up as we was only on the ground floor and warehouse.
