The bridge of which the chapel is an integral part was built around 1342 (that’s older than me!) and it is thought the chapel survived only because of the bridges importance
It consists of nine arches and is 98m long
View of the east side of the bridge notice the gothic arches (pointed at top)
Now a view of the west side notice the arch is now a semicircle
Seems the bridge has been widened twice 9 foot each time in 1758 and 1797 respectively and only the base was keyed in see below and semicircular arches were added(had to take my socks off for these shots
Masons marks are visible everywhere
Found an old drawing on the net and shamelessly stole it
Tried to capture the shot today
Using photobuckets tools made the same modern shot look old
