    Both of them are for the post, do remember that when the posts where built in the 50's the UK telephone system was run by the Post Office.

    Ahh thats interesting, the post office running a system we would most rely on if hit by a Nuclear Weapon.

    Although the Post Office/BT were trusted with providing communications in the event of a Nuclear War, they were not so trusted by the Americans who were based over here.

    They ran there own system called Autovon which ran parallel with the BT system, but much more protected against EMP and breakdowns.

    We have the two systems in place at Upper Heyford and its interesting to compare the two

    ROC Communcations were replaced continuously untill they had EMP Protected Cages. Think the last major bits of equipment in group hq's were the SX2000's
