    Default ROCCY Goodness

I have got round to photographing a few more things

Firstly a photo of all the different variants of keys for the Post Hatches.

Secondly, this is a very rare interface box. There would be several of these in the Group HQ's they would receive the call from Master Posts and there would be a headset attatched.

Seen here in York ROC HQ

    Finally
All master posts were equipped with a Burndept 525 Radio. I am now lucky enough to own one.

Seen here in action: C/Obs Harry Wilkinson at Fleetwood Post, Lancs. Notice the speaker to the left. Unfortunatly i cant seem to find one - i will probably make my own.

Did Mike not supply you with the chain for the radio cabinet mate?

You will need it if your going to hang it on the wall in the post as it holds the weight of the radio.

P.S. I have about 100 of the headsets that plug into those interface boxes (used with the tele-talk) if you want a few.

Oh it was the teletalk they were used with - makes sense - thanks!

Yes i would love some headsets, fancy emailing me/pm'ing me?

I have the chain yeah but i cant seem to find where it attatches to...

Does the whole thing just screw to the wall? Do you have a speaker on yours?

The chain attaches to the front right of the hinged door, there should be a welded bolt. You will need to get a washer and a nut to hold the chain on here.

Inside the box on the top right there should be a hole, you attach a nut and bolt here and then attach the other end of the chain. I used a spacer from a plasma screen mounting kit to bring the chain out slightly as it can rub on the box without it.

The speaker for the boxes is a fairly standard remote speaker, commonly found on old style hands-free kits and CB Radios, you can pick one up at any Maplins and eBay for less than a tenner. The original type where made by PYE and are pretty rare as they had a tendency to corrode internally. The speaker attaches to the left hand side of the box, you will see two REALLY small holes, the bracket attaches on
here. On the bottom of the box there is 3 holes, one is for the power cable, one is for the antenna cable and the other is for the speaker connection. The holes on the top of the unit are not used, if you want the box weather tight then get some nuts & bolts and a bit of silicon sealant, same goes for any other unused holes, most of which where drilled for the boxes other uses outside of the ROC.

I will get some of the headsets this weekend from storage and drop you some pictures.
