Default Glemsford Water Works, Suffolk, March 2012.

Stumbled across this little water works whilst at work, not the biggest site but very interesting.
This little pump house was constructed in 1905, it had a single cylinder diesel engine pumping water up into the old water tower on Tower Meadow. The tower was demolished in 1967.
What is really interesting is the name Glemsford was chiseled out of the window stone as a anti invasion measure in 1940, which is clearly seen in my photograph.

    Thanks for looking.

Ive put this in Mini Reports as it doesnt really warrant a full report matey.

Its well interesting about chiselling the name out - i love to hear stories about stuff like that
