Idle / Wrose Reservoir Abseil, Bradford - Aug 2012

I've had my eye on this place for a couple of years now. After pestering Ogay to bring his ropes and his balloon knot we finally made our way down along with a certain Mr Squizzington.... oh, and of course our good friend ROY!!

To give a bit of context, the reservoir sits high on top of Idle Moor in ye olde Brapford next to a relay transmitter for the one at Emley Moor. It has been empty for a number of years.





Having taken note of the necessary warning signs, it was time to set up whilst Ogay fiddled with his balloon knot...




As we pulled one end of the rope back up to lower some gear down, we accidently an antler from Ruderp the Red Nosed Derpdeer!




Knowing that Ruderp was still down there, minus one antler and turbo pissed, we decided it was time to lower ROY down so he could sort him the fuck out...



Yea, fuck off Roy.


Getting down was easy enough...






The place was massive and the echo was ridiculous! Plenty of photo opportunities to be had...










Good ol' Roy was on the ball and managed to find a micro scooter in full working order and a knackered pair of Roy Cropper's bolt croppers




It was up to the Squizz0r to test drive this powerful beast...

Getting out was a little trickier (for some of us). Ojay flopped about at the hatch for quite some time looking like a testicle with a bad bout of Elephantiasis

You can sing three or four consecutive notes in tune and the reverberation is like a full choir singing, mental!!
