Cool Ooo Aaarr Combine Harvester Graveyard, Alnwick, Nov 2012

Combine harvesters? A 500 mile round trip? Count me in!!

This is the biggest collection of combine harvesters in Europe. Not a graveyard as such, but a business. Manners Farm takes in 60 vehicles a year and tries it's hardest to sell parts from the equivalent amount of combines.

They import combines from many places, including Germany and Eastern Europe.

We saw combines acquired as recently as the end of October, so it's not a dying business!

Thanks go out to the owners of the farm, it is quite pleasant to phone someone up, ask if we can take photos and be welcomed on with open arms.

A word of warning though, if your going without permission, there is a loose Rottweiler and he looked like he had just gobbled up a previous trespasser, he was HUGE!!

Oh and it's best not going cross country either as in the shadow of the stately home, they were volleying off the shots and killing a fook load of pheasants!!
