THE LAST remaining flour mill in Langley Mill Derbyshire has ceased production
Just months after it was taken over by a new firm.
Smiths Flour Mill on Cromford Road. Langley mill will end history of where the name Langley mill originated
It means there are now no more working flour mills in Langley Mill for the first time in nearly 1,000 years. The reason Langley mill was given it name.
We did not get a look inside and don’t expect it to be there much longer as the recycling company is going to town on it. Totally covered by secca and one strange thing that happened whilst we was there which we did not realise until we got home was the bobby walking up the road outside the mill in traditional long black coat, black boots and large bell helmet!!! only when we got home and thought about it did we realise what this guy was wearing was no long standard police issue, it was a bit surreal and I do wish now looking back I had took a photo but hey Hein sites a wonderful thing anyway a few photos of what is the end of an era
