I have had a look around this building years ago when it was still in use as staff quarters, but after in was closed access wasn't possible, until now.
The damage caused by water, vandals & theft is enormous.
The basement is completely flooded, the floors & stairs are rotten and the external timber is almost at the point of collapse.
Many of the original very nice features have been smashed including a large amount of the stained glass windows & panels.
I won't bore you with the history as it's already been covered in other posts.
It's my first report on here - be gentle !
The exterior - rotten timber.
The canteen / dining room
The staff quarters
The ladder up to the water tower, someone has turned the ladder to make climbing it immpossible - it looked dodgy anyway
One of many corridors
One of the stairwells - the stairs are in very poor condition
Didn't try this puzzle
Saw a few of these - no idea what they are !
The recreation centre once housed a large library, all the shelving has been smashed & the books are all in a soggy, moudly heap - quite sad
At least the record player was still there
Schoolboy error ! Should have photographed this the other way round
One of only a few unbroken stained glass windows
Still some original features remain
There was a few small keys hanging in odd places around the hospital
Always need a chair shot
Hope you enjoy these photos - thanks
