Been waiting for this one for a long time, must of been back loads of times but on this day was nice and easy to get in an open door is just an invite, is it not? Anyone that knows my post will know I am more about the explore than photography so all was done on either a point and shoot or my s3, never the less a fun explore over 2 days, to be fair there is not a lot there but it was great to finally have a good mooch,
History
Partly pinched from wiki
During the year that he was Mayor of Derby, Sir Alfred Seale Haslam managed to replace the old William Strutt Infirmary with the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary. In 1890 there had been an outbreak of disease at the old infirmary and Sir William Evans, President of the Infirmary arranged a three day inspection which condemned the old building.[2] When Queen Victoria came to open the new hospital on 21 May 1891 she knighted Haslam for his services and gave permission for the term "Royal" to be used.[2]
the hospital started to shut in 2009 and moved its services to the super hospital built on the other side of the city now know as the city royal, since then there has been numerous rejected planning permissions to build a Morrison’s along with houses, bingo hall and other retail units,
