Default Abernyte ROC Post (Dundee Group) May 2013

This was the last post I visited on my jaunt down to Angus the other month and the longest walk of the day, up hill all the way, can't imagine it was much fun carrying the jerry cans of water up there when it was manned...

Externally the post is not too bad structure wise, usual flaking paint but metal louvers still in place. Inside is dry and not too wrecked despite the number of visitors this post clearly gets if the visitor book is anything to go by. Prob a lot to do with the place being on the geo cache trail. Least they seem to be respecting the place though. So for that reason saw no reason to post this in the non public section.

Btw I have post numbers for Aberdeen and Inverness but has anyone got for Dundee group posts? (at time of closing in 91)

This one is set up as a master post so should end in 0 or 5 but the visitor book says 36 ?

anyway on with the pics .....

Sometimes posts are set up as masters but not ending up being the master post for one reason or another. This can be because another post in the group has become the master instead, a post has relocated or because of staffing issues.

Quite rare to see the bunks (or dismantled in this post at least) in a 91 closure, plus nice to see comms. Cheers for posting!
