Arrow Abandoned Railway / Wortley South Junction - Leeds - December 08

This is what remains of the Wortley South Junction going north towards Bradford. It was closed and abandoned by British Rail back in 1985 despite strong opposition from locals and businesses. It still sits in the trees complete with rails, sleepers, signals and signs.

I know this may not be of interest to some but I love abandoned railways, they have a very peaceful feel to them

The light this afternoon around Leeds was stunning so forgive the train pics please. This is the lost curve here on Flash Earth. The main line still goes past within just a few feet.

    Thanks for looking
