    Arrow Westwood Mill - 25/5/08 - ARCHIVED

This lovely old mill is thought to be the oldest surviving woollen mill in the Clone Valley (1798). Although I have been here before, I never took any photos which did the place justice.

Its condition is ruinous and although well fenced in, the local kids have given it a hard time. According to the nice security guard who turned up, the redevelopment is due to start in July with the demolition of one part and the conversion of the major structures into a centre for local people and some apartments (flats to you and me)

It's a great old place and I advise anyone passing with an interest in industry to stop and have a look round. The sluice gate at the back is rare and worth the visit alone as is the drained mill pond and early hydro electric generator, still in place to this day.

    Thanks
