Arrow Cults Lime and Brickworks, Fife, December 2008

Visited this over the Festive, it's a grand wee explore, plenty to see, stuff to climb and so on

There have been limeworkings in this spot for over a century, there is the mine across the road (didn't venture in this time, there's apparently some bad air, and it's a bit of a labyrinthe..) also the original limekilns nearby. The brickworks and limeworks closed in 2003/2004, and have been left to the ravages of time and more recently pikeys, as someone has been stripping some of the steelworks.

    First signs :

    The site :

    Into the brickworking plant :

    The 'Cumflow'

    More plant :

    Autoclave :

    Switchy goodness

    Wheely and tracky stuff :

    Overviews from on high :

    Bricks

    And lastly, a wee self-portrait

I've been wondering myself - too afraid to Google 'Cumflow' though
