    Arrow Crimdon Dene Defences

The concrete block i believe was some sort of anti tank block that has slipped down the side of the cliff. The Fire Trench was full of soil and i didnt fancy squeezing in only to be greeted by the usual culprits.

On the cliff overlooking the sea

    Interesting screw thingy

Firetrench next to the steps down into the dene. The hole on the right being the entrance. It sort of curled around the cliff edge.

Rummaging through some old photos the other day (Nothing better to do) and came across some real early UE, I did back in the 1970's

I was only 14 then, and went fishing with me dad, on the then abandoned Kennet & Avon Canal, near Aldermarston, Berks.
I was more interested in the bunkers than the fishing

I wonder if the sign and the air raid shelters are still about

Apologies for pic quality but this was real film, in them days, on some old Kodak camera

The Air Raid Shelters, were in a small wood between a railway track and the canal....Time has fuddled my brain as to the exact spot

The Sign reads: This Land Is Out of Bounds to GWR Staff. Access to Shelters Only.

And this one taken in Cherbourg Harbour taken around the 1980's.

Looks as if it took quite a pounding!
