    Arrow Midland Mills, Bradford - 12/03/09

    Visited with Silverstealth yesterday as I was finished in Sunderland by 11.30 and really couldn't be arsed to just drive home in one stint

    This place sits on the opposite of the conditioining house which I visited a month or so ago. It's part demolished but the remainder is grade II listed and was originally built in 1871. It's been vacant since 2001 when British Mohair Supplies Ltd moved out (that's a wool made from goats hair!). It's meant to be converted into a mixed use commercial/residential complex as part of a £35m revamp but can't see that happening anytime! Cheers Stealth for laying on a explore within very short notice

    Lots more pics here..

    The only thing to do with good advice is pass it on. It is never any use to oneself.

    Lovely Shots mr Tumbles, heres a few from me.

    British Mohair Holdings Ltd Midland Mills, BRADFORD, BD1 4RP

    Demolition work has been completed on the disused Bradford textile mill which was once home to the British Mohair Holdings Company. Now plans for the next phase of conversion have been devised by Shipley architects, Beckwith Design Associates and submitted to Bradford council for approval.

    Midland Mills, which has been vacant since 2001, is a two acre site with 3 Grade II Listed Buildings which date back to the nineteenth century. Designed by architects, Andrews and Pepper and built in the 1871, the redevelopment of the mills and the construction of two new residential projects, would form part of the ambitious Bradford Canal project. The blue prints show how the likely route of the Shipley to Bradford canal scheme will run through the site, along with the inclusion of walkways and cyclepaths.

    Andrews And Pepper, Also Responsible For....

    1864 Theatre Royal (Royal Alexandra Theatre), Manningham Lane

    1868 Bradford Commercial Bank (National Westminster), Hustlergate

    1868 Oakwell, Manningham

    1871 Mechanics Institute

    1871 38 Chapel Street, Little Germany

    1871 Bradford Fever Hospital (Penny Oaks), Leeds Road

    1871 Midland Mills {demolished}

    1872 Bradford Grammar School, Manor Row {demolished/fire}

    1873 Manningham Mills

    1873 Church House, North Parade

    1873 St Augustine's Wesleyan Chapel

    1876 St James Church, Bolton Road

    1877 Poor Law Offices (The Register Office), Manor Row

    1877 Alexandra Hotel

    1878 Talbot Hotel, Kirkgate

    A random tourist..
