This place has always been a bit of a mystery. There's not a great deal of information on the web, and no one knows for certain how long it's been abandoned. The general consensus is that the house has been empty for nearly 70 years.

whilst up yesterday, i got speaking to a local who was walking nearby. he too, didn't know a great deal, although did say that the house was abandoned soon after world war 1, after the husband of the lady who owned it, never returned from war. She apparantely cleared the whole estate and left - the last time this estate was to be occupied.

on the estate, there;s the home farm, mansion itself, bridges, gatehouses, gardeners cottage, walled garden and doocot.

the house has an older section which was demolished soon after abandonment i think, and is now just a ruin. I only have photos of the 'intact' part here.
