Arrow Mount St Mary's Church, Leeds- May 08

Late afternoon on the 14th May a few of us set out to visit Mount St Mary's ("the famine church") which was built in 1857 and closed in 1989. At that point there were not many reports posted on the place and we (sqwasher and I) were looking forward to seeing it for ourselves. We were not disappointed! From the outside the Catholic Church was dark, gloomy and trussed up in scaffolding ready for work to start on the part conversion / part demolition but once inside the daylight shone through the various windows and lit up its beauty. Even though the place is home to a large number of pigeons the place was so photogenic that I found it difficult to move on to the presbytery and then leave before it got too dark!!
We all had a great visit. I'm sorry it's taken so long to post this. Here are some of my pics.

Had a play with HDR with this shot of the outside view of the presbytery!
