    Arrow Brancaster Tunnels

Did these with a mate a week or two ago.

The entrance is on the dunes on the beach at brancaster. Apparently there's several of these tunnels all over the beach but i have yet to find another even though a friend of mine maintains theres another one further down.

    Aaaaanyhoo...
The access into the tunnels doesnt look too bad from outside but you have to crawl on your belly with your face in the sand and squeeze through betwen all the sand that's been blown in and the top of the tunnels. Sandy pants... Brill!

Once properly inside things are alot easier, although you need torches as the tunnel goes down about 20-30 ft and theres no light at all.
Also, look out for rubbish and general nastiness... (you know what i mean...)

    Up teh d00nz

My, what a nice big hole you have.

    Tunnelz!

    Obviously.

    I do, actually.

    The 'main' room.

More corridors sprouting off & strange little 'cubicles'

Shadowz. And thankfully no Cliff Richard in sight.

    WooooooOooo!

    Trrriiiiiinkeeetssssss!

Me with a torch in a corner. Exciting!

Yeah pretty sure they are. The structures and concrete look about the same ages & condition as the pillboxes around there.

If they arent WW2 then i have no clue as to what they are.

heres a little drawing i made of the layout of the place. I think the end (which is bricked up on the inside) comes out under the golf course and once had another entrance there... OR... there's more tunnelage! It sounds hollow behind there!
Also, it's not very accurate - there may be a few corridoors and rooms i missed off but it's basically the same.

I aint no artist, but you'll get the general jist.
