Wasn't sure whether to upload or not, or to stick this straight in the recycle bin. The photos are pretty un-awe-inspiring and the site rather boring for anyone who doesn't have a personal interest. I lived there in 2001, for a rather hellish year of junkies injecting on your doorstep and prostitutes using your entrance corridor as a workplace. I took these mainly for my former housemates to relive the horror, and to document it one final time. Incidentally there was a really interesting derelict former school right next to our halls, but it was demolished after this: http://archive.cravenherald.co.uk/2001/9/20/135447.html
Bradford Uni threw up loads of Halls of residence in the sixties. They were generally all very similar and don't really cut the mustard anymore (anyone fancy sharing two showers between 25 rooms?). This combined with falling numbers of residential students means that half were demolished in 2006 and replaced with a car park. The remaining halls have gradually been abandoned and left empty over the past two years, with them due for levelling and replacement any time now. There's not much else to say, and any info that was on the Uni site has now been removed.... according to the campus map these halls no longer exist!
Goodbye Longside Halls! Already forgotten by 40 years of freshers.... fair enough....
