Back in the 1930s Derby County Borough Council as it was then known conceived a plan to completely redevelop the towns riverside with new buildings and landscaping. The scheme was designed by borough Architect Charles Aslin.
Derby's combined police station and magistrates court was one of the parts of the development. This was extended in 1966. The entire complex closed in 2002, the listed 1930s structure has remained in superb condition whilst the 1960s part has deteriorated quite badly. That said both were rather interesting.

The extension - other then some rooftop views the only really interesting feature was the WB1400 sitting forgotten in a dark corner
