The main admin block was converted – still quite a handsome building – and a couple of utility buildings are still there, as is the main quadrangle in front of admin. The road system is still in place too, as are some interesting things in the grounds (an airing court shelter, from memory).

ps – Farmer Giles at Killearn doesn't like visitors, so he discourages them with his 12-bore.

And Killearn is basically part of his farm now where he pens sheep - and he hates visitors - even ones that are supposed to be there!!

Is there anything left at all at Bridge of Earn?

Yep, you're not expecting sheep, chickens, and horses rushing around inside a derelict hospital as you try and stealth in

Bridge of Earn is all gone, nothing but the odd bit of flat concrete driveway.

I have Murthly video to post shortly, not much to see though. Will pop it here in a bit if I can.

I always forget about the Murray Royal. I see they had a couple of escapees a few weeks ago lol.

Here it is, all 18 seconds of it - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=by6tKZiIjv8

The sweep from left to right is as if you were looking at the front of the main asylum building. It was filmed from here - http://www.flashearth.com/?lat=56.52....2&r=0&src=msl and you can see the building we were next to to get your bearings.

Yeah, I can see it most days from where I live. I reckon I might just live there and do rolling reports if it ever does close. Although, if it does, I guess Perth will be filled with some pretty scary people (more so than usual!)

Balls, this might have been a handy meeting to try and get some intel from.

They're building a medium secure unit at the Murray Royal soon, so some of the not quite so dangerous patients at the State Hospital will be sent there.

Or rather, the more dangerous prisoners from Perth Prison who need psychiatric treatment won't have to travel so far …

Well it'll mean the place'll be covered by dome cameras like Leverndale. I'm sure after they demo'd the old blocks at Carstairs they never replaced the capacity.
