Arrow Bletchley Park - Derelict & Abandoned 13/9/09

Visited on Sunday with Bunkerkid, on the "Heritage Open Weekend".
Much of the original Bletchley Park has been dessimated over the last 2 years by a whole sale sell off, of a vast amount of the original grounds that the Park was in

2 years ago you, could really still appreciate the Park, and get the impression of what it was like in WW2.
Alas these days are long gone, and now modern housing spoils a once tranquil view
The original buildings that were put up were made of wood, and still stand to this day But still need a lot of work on them.

It was later in the war 1942/43, when the brick/concrete buildings were built to accomodate the ever increasing personnel needed to help crack the German codes.

Some of these buildings are not considered as worth preserving and were sold along with the land to builders, who in the not to distant future will knock them down to make way for yet more housing!
Its these that Me and BK investigated

One of the entrances to "G" Block - Traffic Analysis & Deception Operations!

Even BT, knew it as "G" Block when they later inhabited the building

Most of the buildings are boarded up, but over the years access is possible if you look

This building dates from about mid 1950's when the CAA were located at BP, training Air Traffic Control personnel. A radar deflector is still located on the roof

The Radar deflector gearing is still visible inside the building along with the heavy beams that held the control gear in place.

Each section had its own incinerator building where Secret & Confidential papers were burnt! This one still had the incinerator in with a lot of Ash and old newspapers dating back to 1992. Even BT used it, for its original purpose

Roof tops of the "B" Block, in a semi camo state
Italian Air & Naval.Japanese Code Breaking took place in this building.

And the man himself! immortalised in slate! - Alan Turing, the man who 'Cracked the Codes' looks over an Enigma machine
