Hi All,

This will be my first report on this forum so just to get the ball rolling and say Hi, I thought I would post a report on a recent trip I took to St Crispins Asylum to climb the tower.

St Crispins Hospital opened in 1876 as the Berrywood Asylum in the town of Duston in Northamptonshire.
It closed in 1995 and now lies partially demo'd with some parts redeveloped and incorporated into a new housing estate.

I have visited 3 times this year between May and September and it looks like work on the renovation has halted for the time being as no work has been done all summer

Unfortunatly the inside of the remaining buildings are heavily stripped and not a lot of original features remain although suprisingly the cinema projectors are still in situe in the main hall.

The tower, however remains untouched by the redevelopers, there is some wonderful graffiti dating back years, the clock faces are huge and it is pitch black on the ladder going up through the water tank.
