Arrow Gwrych Castle, Abergele, Wales - 11/12/2009

    Gwrych Castle

Built in 1819 by Lloyd Hesketh.

An american businessman purchased Gwrych in 1989. Prince Valiant was filmed there in 1996 starring Joanna Lumley. Since then the weather, heartless vandals and new-age travellers have ravaged the building to the point of complete dereliction.

Gwrych Castle is possibly one of the most haunted buildings in wales. From goastly smells to cold spots, full apparitions and more.

In the 1970's a psychic woman stayed in the castle for a couple of weeks during the winter. Whilst she was there she was drawn to a particular room in the men's servants quarters. A spirit contacted her whispering in her ear that there was a secret way into the hillside. She set off to investigate, but whilst near the servants stairs she had an horrific grasping pain in her chest and collapsed. ( in 1915 the butler suffered a fatal heart attack on the same stairs.) the next day the woman left Gwrych never to return.

    Truly magnificent, nice pics.

Did you venture to try and find the secret passageway into the hillside?
