Sqwasher and I visited within a group of urban explorers. The day started off with RAF Holmpton , the ex experimental electronic warfare command centre that if required could keep up to 80 staff members safely entombed within it for up to 1 month. The bunker itself is quite a visit. Some of this is open to the public however we got a special tour with time to take our photos and ask questions. It was both intersting and informative so thank you to those that arranged it.
I know this has already been reported but here are some of my photos of the morning:-
An innocent looking bungalow from above.
The top end of the tunnel that leads down to the bunker
In case of a fire!
Area 7 still secret, yet to be revealed?
The hospital bay.
The ventilation plant.
A dormatory.
Not sure what this is for?
The tunnel on the way out. I love the colour!
This was a great start to a great day out. After this we all headed to Godwin Battery and Spurn point defences, report to follow. Thanks for looking.
