Arrow Lydden Spout Battery Plotting Room. Various 2009.

Built in 1941 with three 6" guns with a range of 24,550 yards. It was manned by 520 Coastal Regiment, Royal Artillery. The western most gun was placed so that in the event of invasion it could be fired on Folkestone Harbour.
This is the Plotting room which was sealed in the 60s and re-opened in 2003.
Visited on various dates in 2009.

I took a stroll through the site last week and took a few photos.

    The Cookhouse and Sergeant's mess.

Half burried Nissen hut. And inside it.

The three magazines are all accessable. First pic fom 1942.

A bit more difficult today. (picture taken by one of my kids)

    Internal light.

    Shell store.
