Part of a UE tour im doing of Lancashire
Wasnt a bad explore, very dark though but luckily my team came equiptThis large mill dominates the flat countryside around Burscough and it's chimney can be seen for miles around. Originally owned by H & R Ainscough, who also owned a mill in Parbold (and a hotel in Southport) it was later owned by Allied Mills until it's closure in 1998.
The site has been bought by Persimmon Homes who will be converting the mill into apartments. After nearly 10 years of disuse, the site is starting to decay, and has suffered some vandalism, but is largely intact. However, some plant has been removed, leaving large gaps in the floors, making exploration a cautious exercise.
On with the show anyway
And we made our way inside
