Can't seem to find any history on the Mill itself. However! It is part of the Borough Triangle's scheme for regeneration in transforming the area through mixed use redevelopment into housing, commercial and retail facilities.
The triangle scheme.
The development will be implemented in two main phases. Phase one will see Castle Mill demolished first, followed by Borough Mill. And is expected to take approximately three years to complete. Asbestos teams are already present at Castle Mill.
This was a chance encounter following a birds eye view of the place whilst soaking up the sun on the roof of Castle Mill. And for those who remember the old Hughie Green show! When "Opportunity Knocks" you grab the bull by the horns
Explored with Judderman 62.
But there's no need to get excited folks! As the place is totally stripped and bare. Apart from part of the first floor that was used by the NDC (new deal for communities) to promote the scheme.
On with the pics then.
The Mill as seen from the roof of Castle Mill.
The stripped bare floors.
Some nice light to play with.
The NDC section. Totally trashed.
The scheme promo.
Someone had fun making this.
The welcoming entrance foyer and stairs.
Steps to the roof.
The view.
And Judders taking it all in.
So glad we managed to get in here as Judders said that 4/5 days ago this was sealed up real tight. We got lucky
Thanks for looking.
