This is Hepper House, a purpose built auction house understood to have built during the middle of the 19th century for John Hepper & Sons. The premises are Grade II listed and are arranged over lower ground, basement, ground, first and mezzanine floors with an ornate stone facade to East Parade.

For the last few decades it has been home to Bonhams Auction house but they moved out about two years ago, it's been empty ever since.

I walk past it everyday and have often admired the lovely stone work on the frontage but knew there was no chance of getting in as it's fully alarmed and used for storage.

I got in on the off chance, and was lucky, but most of the original features I had hoped for are gone. There are some nice bits and bobs like the strongroom, safes and random fireplaces.

Enjoy

Round the back
