Well I finally bought a new lens yesterday to replace the one I broke last month, and to mark the occasion, that evening, I dragged it around the WW2 Road of Remebrance Bunker in Folkestone.
It's thought that it was a communications centre that was part of the network feeding information from shipping in the channel back to the Enigma project in Bletchley Park. There's also a wartime diary entry stating that military misinformation was sent to the enemy from here during the build-up to D-Day.
The fact that there seems to be hardly any information on this place leads me to think that the above is true.
On with the pics. Starting with a plan.
1.
2. Southern most W.Cs.
3. Looking down the Western passage.
4. Far western room. (all the rooms have traces of dividing walls in them)
5. And its door.
6. Looking out and through northern most room to second passage.
7. Northern most room.
8. Remains of a wartime poster in that room.
9. Southernmost large room.
10. Second passage.
10. Original delivery note on air-con trunking.
Looking up the western passage.
12. One of the locked entrance doors.
