Arrow Thorpe Marsh Power Station, Doncaster, 18/7/10

So me and cloughandfowle2 decided to go a bit further a field than leeds this week and head over to Doncaster. As we arrived on site there was some guy already there rummaging through all the wreckage so we decided to avoid him and take a different route around the place. As we got further in i realized there wasn't that much to see but the main reason for me wanting to go was to stand inside a huge cooling tower so the lack of sights didn't bother me at all. I just wish we had gone earlier than now because there majority of the site just seems to be huge piles of bricks. As we were coming to the end of our explore we noticed another person on site and as before swiftly went in a different direction, then as we got towards the main gate near the digger i noticed a white transit van had pulled up and was just sat watching us, at this point i thought it was best we left the site. When we were walking back to the car we heard a couple of motorbikes on site bombing around, so i assume this was the guy in the van who must have been waiting for us to leave so he could have a play on his motorbike. Anyway all together the explore was really fun and laid back and now i feel really cool for having stood in a cooling tower

Nice one - I loved this place when I went a few weeks ago. Did you not go in the little building nearish the front gate or the big building beyond the diggers ?

    Love the penultimate shot.

yeah we went in the big building, but it didnt seem that interesting to me so i didnt really take many pics of it and by the time we got near the smaller building near the digger the man in the van had turned up so we didnt get a chance to have a look inside.

    Well, i'm up for it.

I've just noticed somebody has moved the little red trike:

it was over near the warehouse when I went:

There were some guys there from National Grid when we went but they never bothered us. We had binoculars and there was a pair of Peregrines we were watching during our explore so its easy to pass ourselves off as twitchers.
We were talking to a local too, at the back end of the site where the old coal dumping bit and train yard is. It's a footpath and everybody uses it, we saw loads of people walking and riding through the site
