Arrow farnley woods otley report aug 08

used to frequent these woods as a kid knowing that it was the site of a ww2 canadian army camp site and was also used by the royal engineers as a training site.. went in with trepidation as the gamekeeper is a bit keen to say the least, has been 30 years since my last visit ! and things have disappeared these are some pics of whats left

this is the main entrance to the camp

a few concrete posts showing the edge of the road

    whats left of telegraph pole

    walking down following the kerb

hard standing where a hut used to be at the end of the road notice drainage at top left of pic

drainage were all over the site

outline of where hut would have been

coming back through the main gate to the left was this ?

military vehicles were often seen through otley coming from the railway station to the camp when it was used .
